Imax IPTV Installation Guide — Every Device

Your welcome email contains three things: a username, a password and a server URL. Every guide below uses exactly those. Most people are watching within five minutes of opening the email.

Before you start

What You Need in Front of You

Have the welcome email open on your phone — you will be typing from it. If it has not arrived, check your spam folder before contacting us; that is where it lands most often.

  • Your Imax IPTV username and password
  • Your server or portal URL (or M3U link)
  • The device you want to watch on
  • A connection of 15 Mbps or better
Short answer: There is no Imax IPTV app to download. You install a free IPTV player — IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, IBO Player or XCIPTV — then log in with the Xtream Codes username, password and server URL we email you. Setup takes about five minutes on any device.

Is there an Imax IPTV app or APK?

This is the most common question we get, so it is worth answering plainly before the guides. There is no separate Imax IPTV application, and you should be cautious of any website offering an "Imax IPTV APK" for download — we do not publish one.

Your subscription is a set of credentials that works inside established, widely used IPTV players. That is a deliberate choice and it works in your favour: those apps are actively maintained, available in official app stores, and if you ever change provider your player stays the same. You are not locked into software that only one company supports.

The players we recommend are IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate (Android only, and the best experience on a TV), IBO Player and Smarters Player Lite for Samsung and LG, and XCIPTV. Your welcome email names the best option for the device you told us about.

🔥 Amazon Firestick and Fire TV

The Firestick is the most popular way to run Imax IPTV, and the only common device that needs a short detour before you can install a player, because the app is not in Amazon's own store.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, open Find → Search, type Downloader, and install the orange Downloader app.
  2. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and switch on Install unknown apps, then enable it for Downloader.
  3. Open Downloader and enter the player download link included in your welcome email.
  4. Install the app, open it, and choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
  5. Enter your username, password and server URL exactly as they appear, then wait while the channels and guide load. The first load takes a minute or two.

If Developer Options is missing from the menu, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click on Fire TV Stick seven times. The option appears after that.

🤖 Android TV, boxes, phones and tablets

Android is the easiest platform because the players are in the Play Store.

  1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or XCIPTV from Google Play.
  2. Open the app and choose Add playlist → Xtream Codes API.
  3. Give the profile any name you like, then enter your username, password and server URL.
  4. Save. Live TV, movies and series appear in the side menu within a minute.

On a television, TiviMate is worth the small cost of its premium tier — the interface is built for a remote control rather than a touchscreen, and the recording and guide features are noticeably better.

📺 Samsung and LG smart TVs

Samsung's Tizen and LG's webOS do not permit sideloading, so these sets use an app that we activate from our side. The process looks unusual the first time but takes only a few minutes.

  1. Open your TV's own store — Smart Hub on Samsung, LG Content Store on LG — and install IBO Player, Smarters Player Lite or Duplex IPTV.
  2. Launch the app. It will display a MAC address, and often a device key or ID.
  3. Send that MAC address to us on WhatsApp or live chat. We attach your playlist to the app remotely, usually within a few minutes.
  4. Close the app fully and reopen it. Your channel list loads automatically.

Some of these apps carry a small one-time activation fee charged by the app developer, not by us. That is normal for Samsung and LG and is a consequence of their closed platforms.

📱 iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

  1. Install Smarters Player Lite or iPlay TV from the App Store.
  2. Choose the Xtream Codes API login option and enter your three credentials.
  3. The same applications exist on tvOS, so a single set of credentials covers iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

💻 Windows and macOS

  1. For a quick test, install VLC, open Media → Open Network Stream and paste your M3U link. This plays channels but gives you no guide.
  2. For a proper television-style interface with the EPG, install IPTV Smarters Pro for Windows or MyIPTV Player and use the Xtream Codes login instead.

📦 MAG, Enigma2 and Formuler boxes

These devices use a portal address rather than an app login. After checkout, send us your box model and its MAC address. We will reply with the exact portal URL to enter under Settings → Servers → Portals, plus the reboot step that completes the process. Formuler boxes running MYTVOnline can alternatively use the standard Xtream Codes login.

Troubleshooting

The picture buffers or freezes

Restart your router first — it resolves more cases than anything else we suggest. Then prefer a wired Ethernet connection, or 5 GHz Wi-Fi over an older 2.4 GHz signal. Confirm your connection genuinely delivers 15 Mbps, or 25 Mbps if you are asking for 4K, using any speed test.

If buffering affects only one channel while others are fine, the problem is upstream rather than on your line, and we can usually move you to a better feed within minutes.

The login is rejected

Copy and paste rather than typing. A single trailing space in the server URL, a capital letter where a lowercase one belongs, or a confusion between the digit 1 and a lowercase L accounts for nearly every rejected login we investigate.

Channels are missing or the list is empty

Pull down to refresh the playlist inside your app, or close and reopen it completely. If the list is still short, message us — reloading your line from our end takes seconds.

The TV guide is blank

The EPG usually populates a few minutes after first login rather than instantly. If it is still empty an hour later, check your app's EPG settings — some players require the guide source to be enabled once — and tell us which app you are using.

What the three credentials actually mean

Almost every setup problem traces back to misunderstanding these, so a short explanation saves a lot of time.

The server URL (sometimes called the portal or host) tells your player which server to talk to. It usually looks like a web address followed by a port number. It must be entered exactly, including http:// and the port, with no trailing slash and no space at the end.

The username and password identify your line on that server. They are case sensitive. They are not an email address and not the password you used at checkout — they are generated specifically for your subscription.

An M3U link is an alternative format that bundles all three into a single long URL. Some players want the three fields separately (Xtream Codes) and some want the single link (M3U). We send both, so use whichever your app asks for. Xtream Codes is generally better because it gives you the movies and series sections, which a plain M3U playlist often does not.

Keeping your line secure

Your credentials are the subscription. Anyone who has them can use your connections, which will push you into the "too many streams" error and degrade your own viewing.

Do not post your login in public forums or group chats, even to ask for help — screenshot the error rather than the credentials. If you suspect your details have leaked, message us and we will reset them; it takes a minute and does not cost you anything or shorten your term.

Choosing the right player for your device

Because your subscription works in any standard player, the app you pick shapes your experience more than most people expect. A short guide to what suits what.

TiviMate — best on a television

If you watch mainly on a TV using an Android box or Firestick, TiviMate is the best experience available. It is built around a remote control rather than a touchscreen, its programme guide is the closest thing to a traditional cable interface, and its channel management — reordering, hiding groups, building favourites — is far ahead of the alternatives. The free version is capable; the premium unlock adds recording and multiple playlists.

IPTV Smarters Pro — the safe all-rounder

Smarters runs on nearly everything: Android, iOS, Windows, Mac and Fire TV. It is the app we recommend to most new customers because the same interface follows you across every device, so learning it once covers the whole household. It handles live TV, movies and series in separate sections and its Xtream Codes login is the simplest to enter.

IBO Player and Smarters Player Lite — for Samsung and LG

On Tizen and webOS your options are limited to what the manufacturer's store offers. Both of these work reliably. They rely on us attaching your playlist to the app's MAC address, which is why setup on a smart TV involves messaging us rather than typing credentials.

XCIPTV and others

XCIPTV is a solid Android alternative with a slightly more modern interface than Smarters. Any player supporting Xtream Codes or M3U will work — you are not restricted to our recommendations.

Getting the best possible picture

A few settings make a visible difference and take a minute each.

  • Use Ethernet where you can. A cable to the main television removes the single largest cause of buffering. Powerline adapters are a decent compromise where running a cable is impractical.
  • Prefer 5 GHz Wi-Fi. If Ethernet is impossible, connect to the 5 GHz band rather than 2.4 GHz. The range is shorter but the throughput and interference resistance are far better, which matters for live streams.
  • Increase the buffer. Most players expose a buffer setting. Raising it adds a second or two of delay before playback begins but greatly reduces mid-stream stutter on a busy connection.
  • Choose the right quality. If your connection is marginal, pinning channels to FHD instead of 4K produces a far more watchable result than a 4K stream that constantly rebuffers.
  • Restart the device occasionally. Firesticks in particular benefit from a weekly restart; they have limited memory and degrade after long uptime.

Using Imax IPTV on more than one device

Your plan sets how many streams can run simultaneously, not how many devices you may install the app on. You can set up the player on the living room TV, a bedroom TV, two phones and a tablet — you are only limited by how many play at the same moment.

If you try to start more streams than your plan allows, the newest one is refused rather than interrupting an existing viewer. If that happens regularly, upgrading your connection count is far cheaper than a second subscription; message us and we will adjust it rather than making you buy again.

Stuck at any point? Send a photo of the screen to WhatsApp or open live chat. We walk people through setup every day and can usually identify the problem from one screenshot.
